The Panama hat is world-renowned. We decided to introduce this masterpiece into the collection with all the signature Lastelier characteristics to create the perfect Panama hat, elegant and timeless. The hat you won't be able to live without: we made it.

The Panama hat is handcrafted in Ecuador from toquilla straw, sourced from a local palm species. In 2012, UNESCO inscribed the traditional weaving of the Panama hat on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In the beginning, the main function of the Panama hat was to protect people from the sun, then it became a fashionable hat (which still protects from the sun). The Lastelier Panama hat is certified with a UPF30 sun protection rating, blocking over 96% of UV rays.

This Women's Panama hat also features all the patented signature interior elements of Lastelier hats:
- A black interior to prevent staining the hat
- A comfortable and very slightly tightened interior elastic so that the hat stays securely on the head, even in windy conditions
- And finally, a patented interior pocket where you can store a credit card, hotel key card, or money.

Rangement & Entretien

Storage:

Before storing your Women's Panama, you must ensure that the hat is very clean and dry. If it has a little dust, a light brushing with a soft brush or lint roller will work just fine. Store your Women's Panama hat away from direct light, in a place of its own and where it will not be exposed to dust, crushed or deformed such as in a hat box, a storage box, on a shelf, on a hat stand…

To store it, several options are available to you:

You can lay it flat with shell padding
You can put it upside down, that is to say on the cap, taking care that the edges do not touch any surface
You can hang it as a decoration on a wall or put it on a coat rack, taking care to turn it from time to time

Maintain:

Gently brushing your Panama hat once a month will help preserve it well. To do this, simply use a soft brush, lint roller or even a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust, dirt and hair from your hat.
