The Panama is an Ecuadorian straw hat known throughout the world. We decided to introduce this masterpiece into the collection with all the signature Lastelier features to create the perfect stylish and timeless Panama hat. The hat you can't live without: we made it.

Listed as a UNESCO heritage site
The Panama is handmade in Ecuador using toquilla straw from a local palm species. In 2012, UNESCO included Panama's traditional weaving as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Protects from the sun
At the very beginning, the main function of the panama was to protect people from the sun, then it became a fashionable hat (which still protects from the sun).

The exclusive Lastelier patent
This hat has all of Lastelier's signature features including a patented interior pocket to store the hotel's magnetic card or money, the interior elastic so that it stays on your head even if there is rain. wind and the interior elements of the hat are black so that you can wear sunscreen or put on makeup without fear of staining it.

Storage & Maintenance

Storage:

Before storing your Women's Panama, you must ensure that the hat is very clean and dry. If it has a little dust, a light brushing with a soft brush or lint roller will work just fine. Store your Women's Panama hat away from direct light, in a place of its own and where it will not be exposed to dust, crushed or deformed such as in a hat box, a storage box, on a shelf, on a hat stand…

To store it, several options are available to you:

  • You can lay it flat with shell padding
  • You can put it upside down, that is to say on the cap, taking care that the edges do not touch any surface
  • You can hang it as a decoration on a wall or put it on a coat rack, taking care to turn it from time to time

Maintain:

Gently brushing your Panama hat once a month will help preserve it well. To do this, simply use a soft brush, lint roller or even a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust, dirt and hair from your hat.

If you do not know your size please follow the following steps:

  1. Take a measuring tape, or failing that, a string that you will measure later
  2. Place it approximately 1 cm above the ears and eyebrows, loosely and you will have your measurement
  3. The measurement falls between 2 sizes? Opt for the next size
